FAQs
How do I know if my horse needs therapeutic work?
Think about how you feel when your back or neck hurts and what happens to your body when you experience that pain. You often see a decreased range of motion in your own limbs or muscles. Your horse is the same way! Sometimes, the little things like increased tripping, pinning their ears more, refusing jumps or weaving in their stall can mean something is wrong. If you’re not sure, you can always reach out and we can talk through your horse’s current issues to find the best solution. I offer free remote consultations and do an extensive evaluation in-person before we begin a session.
How do I know the therapy we chose is working?
Most horses will experience some form of release immediately. Some will have a minor release and then experience more comfort after a few hours. There are even extreme cases where horses are protective and afraid to use their body in the way they did pre-injury so they don’t get hurt again- we can work through this too. Keep in mind that every horse and therapy modality are different. I will walk you through what to expect immediately, within 24 hours and into the future.
What can I do to prepare for a session?
Clean! Please make sure your horse has recently been groomed or had a bath. It is extremely important for sanitary reasons that your horse is clean and dry. This way, I am not working around any caked on mud/sand/dirt and we can clearly see if/where there are any open wounds. Please note there is a fee if I arrive to an extremely dirty horse- this makes it more time consuming for me to clean and wipe down my equipment between sessions with other horses. For sanitary reasons, all of my equipment is sanitized between sessions.
If your horse has been in a stall prior to a session, it is a GREAT idea to take them for a little hand walk- 10 mins should be plenty. A brief walk before a session will help warm them up and help make the most of the hands-on therapies that involve massage and manipulation of the muscles and stress points.
Do you work on animals other than horses?
Yes and no— I am currently certified for small animals (dogs, cats), livestock and equines for MagnaWave PEMF. I aim to be offering dogs the same services that I have for horses by the end of 2025.
Can I purchase services as a gift for a friend/loved one?
Yes! I do offer gift certificates that can be emailed to the recipient or printed. Please contact me using this form for a gift certificate.
